ESPRESSIVO 2025, KOLKATA, INDIA

A Celebration of Music, Leadership, and Educational Excellence

On 30 October 2025, LUI was honoured to be part of Espressivo 2025, the annual concert and award ceremony organised by SS LCM Kolkata Centre, held at the prestigious G.D. Birla Sabhaghar.

Our founder, Peline Ong, attended the evening as Chief Guest, addressing a full house at one of Kolkata’s most respected state-level halls. The event showcased student performances alongside an award presentation segment, reflecting both artistic achievement and the school’s commitment to structured music education.

A highlight of the visit was reconnecting with Sharmistha Shome, founder and principal of SS LCM Kolkata Centre. Having worked together over many years, it was a proud moment to witness the steady growth of the institution under her leadership. Sharmistha continues to thoughtfully refine and strengthen the school, ensuring it remains responsive to a fast-changing educational landscape while staying grounded in quality and purpose. We look forward to seeing the next phase of the school’s growth under her thoughtful and steady leadership.

Beyond the performances, engaging with the team of teachers was especially meaningful. Their passion for teaching was evident in both the students’ presentations and the conversations behind the scenes — a strong reminder that sustainable institutions are built by committed educators working collectively with a shared vision.

Events like Espressivo 2025 reaffirm an important principle we hold at LUI: while excellence in education is universal, effective models are never one-size-fits-all. Institutions thrive when leadership, pedagogy, and structure are carefully calibrated to local culture and demographics — enabling long-term sustainability and continuous innovation.

We thank SS LCM Kolkata Centre for the warm hospitality and congratulate the entire team on a memorable and well-executed celebration of music and learning.
