London College of Music Examinations – for Music Educator
The London College of Music Examinations, or LCME, is an examinations board offering graded and diploma qualifications in music, and in drama & communication. The board is a department of the London College of Music, or LCM, a school within the University of West London.
LCME is accredited with Ofqual, Its examinations are gaining popularity due to its wide discipline and quality of assessments. Its qualifications are internationally recognized. There is also mutual recognition with other major British music examination boards. This means that a learner with certification from another major examination board will be able to sit for an LCME examination at the next equivalent level.
LUI is the regional office for LCME examinations in Asia, the Middle East and Africa. LUI supports LCME examination centres in the following areas:
- Handle the administration for examination entries
- Supply the examination handbook from LCME
- Organise LCME related activities
LCME examinations are available three times a year – in the spring session (March-April), summer session (July-August) and winter session (November-December).
LUI has had a long history in supporting examination centres in the region. Being Singapore based, it is in the same time zone to support examiners and examination centres LUI is also innovative in the way it supports examination centres, for example exploring the use of internet-based video assessment.
The support LUI provides to over a hundred examination centres in over two dozen countries is a mark of its administrative capabilities. The support is end-to-end.
